Let's Get Blogging! Step One - Reading Blogs
Before you start blogging, read some other student blogs (you will find links to them at the top-right corner of this page). Reading these blogs will help you to think about these questions:
- What is a blog?
- What is a great blog?
- How do blogs work? How can you read a blog?
- What is the difference between a post and a comment?
- What is a great post or comment?
Since you are not yet set up to make comments, I am going to open a chat for us to discuss these ideas. The question for the chat is: What have we learned from reading blogs that we should remember when we are writing our own blog?
Reminder: Before you can start blogging, you need to return your signed permission form. If possible, show your adults the blog when you are talking to them about it. I have put the letter in a comment on this post.

Blog Purpose
Here at Crescent Town, we are working on Big Ideas. Each grade has a different Big Idea. We are going to use this blog for students and teachers to think about the Big Ideas together.
To help us think about this clearly, we have a central question: How is the Big Idea connected to the school subjects and the world?
